Don’t Forget about you (Self Care) and your Weight Loss Goals this Holiday Season! (Common Holiday Mistake #1)
Not only are we in the 10th month of the year, but also the 4th quarter. Guess what else? The “kick-off” of the Holiday Season!
Many will soon think of New Year’s Resolutions – yet AGAIN. What’s the #1 New Year’s Resolution of all time – Weight Loss! (exercise is a very close second.
I reveal the first of FOUR Holiday mistakes made and how to avoid falling into this common pit.
And it’s not what you think….
Important questions to ponder…
This leads me to three (3) important questions that I’d like to ask you…
- What were your weight loss and health goals back in January?
- Do you remember those resolutions you set for yourself to get healthier?
- Was one goal to lose the same XX pounds you’ve been trying to lose year after year?
It’s not your fault! You are alone.
Doing things different (self care weight loss)
Let’s make the Holiday Season next year different than in the years past!
How?
The first step is todays topic: “Not Forgetting About YOU” Let’s take a quick self-assessment check:
Fast forwarding 10 months to this day in October
- Have you lost the weight you hoped for?
- Are your energy levels higher?
- Do you feel healthier?
If you answered NO to one or more of these questions, again you are not alone. In fact, new research has shown that a whopping 80% of people give up on their New Year’s resolutions and many throw in the towel by January.
The good news, it’s not too late to answer YES to all 3 of these questions before 2021 comes to an end.
Holiday Mistake #1 (self care weight loss)
With our mile long “to do” list during the Holiday season (covid is not going to slow that down much), what we eat or don’t eat tends to take a backseat….
Skipping Breakfast. No matter how many parties you are attending – have a solid breakfast. Going to an event starving, results in over eating 99.9% of the time. This form of ‘saving’ calories results in eating way more – hence holiday weight gain. Unfortunately, coffee with or without fruit does not count. Here’s an sample:
- 1/2 cup cooked plain oatmeal
- 1/2 apple or top with other fruit of choice
- 1 whole egg
- 8 oz (1%/Soy/Lactose-Free) milk or single serving size of fat-free yogurt
Are you surprised that you may have All of this for breakfast!
This is an example of clean eating (no deprivation here!). A powerhouse breakfast packed with whole foods and nutrients! Designed to jump start energy levels, metabolism and fill you up for several hours.
By the way, feel free to add coffee with your breakfast for pure enjoyment. 😊
*Some individuals need more or less calories depending on specific caloric needs.
Don’t forget about you (self care weight loss)
Wow, time flies, doesn’t it? I can hardly believe that it’s already October and that soon the holiday season will be upon us and we’ll soon be thinking of New Years Resolutions again.
This leads me to an important question that I’d like to ask you…what were your weight loss and health goals back in January? Do you remember those resolutions you set for yourself to get healthier, to lose the same 20 pounds you’ve been trying to lose year after year?
Self Assessment
Now , let’s fast forward to 10 months.
- Have you lost the weight you hoped for?
- Are your energy levels higher?
- Do you feel healthier?
If you answered NO to one or more of these questions, trust me you are not alone. In fact, new research has shown that a whopping 80% of people give up on their New Year’s resolutions and many throw in the towel by January!
What to do Instead (An Easy First Step…)
If you’ve been tweaking your intermittent fasting window, trying every new version of Keto, or thinking you need to shop exclusively at Trader Joe’s or Whole Foods to eat healthy… it’s time for a change! Especially if you’ve been trying for 3 months or longer without results.
As Einstein said, “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. “So, if your current strategy hasn’t given you the results you deserve, why keep doing it?
Do you feel like you’ve tried every diet created? After trying all of these diets you’re likely left feeling frustrated and disappointed because you can’t keep the weight off for good. It can be incredibly tiresome to always feel like you’re starting over without any real change in your body.
If you’re struggling with weight loss or confused/overwhelmed about what to eat… you’re in the right place!
I’ve got you covered!
That’s why I created this 5-Day meal plan. In this easy-to-follow guide, you’ll experience:
