“How the SETBACK of High Blood Pressure Led to My COMEBACK as a Registered Dietitian”

This week I am up close, personal, candid, and no-chaser to the point about my personal health journey.

My mission (the BIG WHY, I do what I do) is help people experience the effects that small changes with eating, exercise, and sleep patterns will have on

#1) quality of your life – having high energy throughout the day, living pain free, disease free;

#2) the quantity of your life – how long we live on this earth and

#3) how gracefully and independently we age – being able to walk freely and perform simply activities of daily life without assistance.

My Big Why!

It truly breaks my heart to see people living in pain, not liking what they see in the mirror, tired all day long, on multiple medications, and in some cases on meds for the meds, living with chronic illnesses, or getting newly diagnosed with a chronic illness.

Trust me when I say, many of these situations are very preventable. Everything is not linked to genetics or the fact that we are getting older.

Our destiny is not always shaped by our family history.  I truly believe the sooner we TAKE ACTION over our own health (using safe, effective and long-term solutions),

and the earlier in life we TAKE ACTION and make our health a priority, the less sick we are as a country.

 

Nutrition Confusion!

We are in the days where so much nutrition information is readily available at our fingertips via social media, the internet, television, etc.

Some of this information is creditable, evidence based, safe and effective to follow. Unfortunately, a large amount of the information is misguided, misrepresented, conflicting, and leads to unhealthy side effects in the long-term.

Such as a time is THIS to talk about my personal health journey and story.

I will share 3 points:

#1 My struggle with High Blood Pressure and denial about losing weight.

I will go into deeper details of my struggle and denial than I have in past videos.

Because fad dieting and restricting calories/carbs/sugar are generally the first course of action to address weight loss and medical conditions, it’s really been on my heart to open up and speak with transparency about this

#2 The trigger that led to me to finally get help to lose the weight

#3 How Hypertension and losing weight changed the direction of my life
