What is the Deal with all of these Low-Carb Diets, like Keto and Atkins?

The Pros

Many people who try a super low-carb diets such as Keto or Atkins have success initially at losing weight or managing blood sugar levels.  The reason is, these diets involve a lot of healthy choices. Such as eating healthy fats, getting adequate protein, and cutting out processed carbohydrates, condiments and fast food. All of these steps are good for the body!

Don’t miss this important point. It’s not the diet that’s responsible for these changes, its the fact that you created some rules around what you eat – AND followed them long enough to lose weight!

In a nutshell, when following “low-carb diets“, people cut out high volumes of rice, the granola bars, the soda or energy drinks, etc. Doing this cuts out a lot of inflammation that eating too much of these foods cause, thus lowering insulin levels in blood and feeling great!

Cutting out junk food (sweets) and processed foods is simply part of  healthy eating habits. This does not require the extreme measures of Keto, Atkins,or carb-defined at all!
